Royal Marines Concert - Sunday 15th July 2018
The concert will commence at 2.30pm.
The first half of the concert will contain a variety of music. Programmes will be available for sale on the day.
There will be a short interval approximately 3.30pm.
The second half of the concert will include some more music, before moving into an act of remembrance and re-dedication service. The event will conclude with a rousing finale including Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
The concert will finish approximately 5.30pm
The concert is free to attend.
We have very limited seating available and, apart from a small number allocated to families and VIP's it is not possible to reserve seats. We therefore strongly recommend that people attending the event bring their own seating if required.
The Band will be rehearsing and conducting sound checks on the Bandstand from approximately 11am to 1pm.
The Victory Wartime Band will be performing between 1.50pm and 2.20pm.
Programmes for the concert will be on sale at the event and cost £2.
In previous years we have been privileged to have a fly past by aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. Due to other committments, the fly past this year is likely to take place between 4pm and 4.30pm. Exact times will depend on a number of factors on the day. Please note that the fly-past is always subject to weather conditions on the day.
Donations & Raffle
This event is free to attend, but as you will appreciate costs a considerable amount of money. There will be the opportunity for people attending to support the work of the Bandstand Trust by making donations and/or buying raffle tickets. Raffle tickets are on sale in the lead up to the concert and all through the 1st half of the concert. The draw will take place following the interval and winning tickets announced over the PA system. Any unclaimed prizes will be published on this website, our Facebook page, our Twitter account and in the following editions of the East Kent Mercury.
